What's in My Bag?

Ok so, for some odd reason, I love finding out what people carry in their bags. I do somewhat feel like a stalker or peeping tom but hey, it's interesting right? I've gotten a couple ideas in the past just by seeing what people carry with them. I've received a few requests to do this and at first, I felt kind of ridiculous doing it...but what the hell, here it is! For everday, I carry this black Zara bag that I bought in the Summer of '09. It's the perfect size for me for school/ shopping/ etc.

Here are the main things in my bag:

1. Notebook/ Binder
2. Pepper Spray (for those scary late nights! lol)
3. iPod Touch
4. "Makeup" Bag
5. Pencil Case
6. Wallet

I really don't carry that much in my bag. When it gets too messy, it's too difficult and aggravating to find things.

Now here's what's in my "makeup bag". I put that in quotations because I hardly ever carry makeup with me, maybe just a concealer and lip gloss from time to time.
1. C.O Bigelow Rose Salve
2. Bath and Body Works Hand Lotion
3. Mirror
4. Hair tie
5. Blotting Sheets
5. Tissues (in its cute vita soy bag)
6. Hand Sanitzer
7. Tide Pen

So there it is girls. Nothing too crazy or interesting. What are some things you guys must always have with you in your bags?

ALSO, quick reminder, there's still a few days left to enter my Skin MD Natural giveaway...check the post below for details.

Review: Skin MD Natural + Giveaway

I was approached by those over at Skin MD Natural to test their Face, Hand, & Body Shielding Lotion and now, I am finally getting around to doing it. First off, you may be wondering 'what's a shielding lotion?'- here's a brief snippet from their brochure: "Shielding lotions not only protect the skin's barrier but they restore the moisture to the skin and allow the skin to continue to moisturize itself, so that your skin does not become addicted on the moisturizer and ultimately cures the dry skin." Shielding lotion is a fairly new product to skin treatment scene. I was really intrigued by this product as it's different from most traditional moisturizers. It helps rebuild your skin so that is can heal itself. When I first used the product, I liked that it was super light. It won't clog your pores, cause acne, etc. I was skeptical too because I do tend to have extremely dry skin and prefer something heavier for the winter. I tested it for about 1 week- 1.5 weeks. Honestly, I really wasn't expecting too much from this product but I was fairly surprised by the results. After a couple days, my skin felt a bit softer and had a certain glow to it. It's hard to pinpoint exactly what I like about it but my skin just looked overall healthier. It's definitely a great product for those who like light moisturizers. I personally would probably save it for the spring or summer as I like to lather on heavy moisturizer in the wintertime. Skin MD Natural also uses natural ingredients so you don't have to worry about what you're putting on your face. The price per bottle is $18- which can be a bit pricey for some but if you can, I would always splurge a little more on the important products like moisturizers, foundation, etc. Just make sure to do your research before hand about what products might work for you before spending a whole lot on one product. If you're interested in learning more about Skin MD Natural, visit skinmdnatural.com...the website explains it a lot better than I do.

What Not To Buy: LoveMyShoes.com

A couple of weeks ago, I purchased two pairs of boots from Lovemyshoes.com. I had viewed their website a few times but never ordered anything from them prior. However, they were having a sale on these White Mountain Juggler Boots- $19.97 final sale. Seemed like a good deal as I had seen them in department stores and liked them. When they came, I immediately knew something was fishy. When I touched them, they made this crinkling sound- I realized there seemed to be an extra sheet of plastic sewn into the boot between the interior fur and the exterior. When I put it on and tested it, the sound was ridiculously loud- no way I would be able to wear this outside and not be embarrassed. I held off contacting Customer Service until I saw another pair of these in real life. I was in DSW the other day and the Juggler boots they had did not have the extra plastic and made no sound. So I decided to go ahead and contact customer service and request a refund as the shoes were defective/damaged (or bootleg? hmmm). Initially they told me to send them pictures- but how could I send them pictures of a defect that wasnt't visible? After I pointed that out, they immediately denied me a refund and said their shoes come straight from the manufacturer and are "inspected" before they are shipped- which must not be true since mine were defective. I wouldn't accept that as an answer and argued some more. Finally, they said I could ship back the shoes and attach a note and then they would inspect it. Are they serious? Basically, they were expecting me to spend $10 to ship the shoes back to them and I was still not guaranteed a refund. This has been by far the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Any other company would have been apologetic and immediately issued a refund (especially since all they had to do was refund $19.97 back and keep a customer happy). So lesson of the day guys, don't purchase anything from lovemyshoes.com!

Has anyone else ever purchased from them before? What was your experience?

Remembering Alexander McQueen

As many of you may have heard, the fashion world suffered a tremendous loss today with the death of Alexander McQueen, apparantly due to suicide. He was only 4o years old. McQueen had been building quite a career for himself over the past 15 years, creating designs that were avant-garde, bold, and different. He was controversial and unconventional. Everything he designed was so imaginative and made from complete creativity. His clothes were interesting, romantic, and elegant but also had a dark edge to it. When I heard the news, I was stunned. McQueen was so young but gone too soon- he had so much more to do and give. It saddens me we've lost such a talented person today. His clothes were like art that had so much mystery and personality to it- you would see something different in it everytime. He will definitely be missed in the world of fashion.
