Starbucks Adventures

The first and most obvious reason I love Starbucks is because of the coffee. I'm a self proclaimed addict and if I need a little pick me up, there is nothing better to me than a cup of joe (except for a cup of iced joe). Now, the second reason I love Starbucks is for the names they write on the cups. While my name isn't super common, I'd say it's fairly recognizable and easy to spell but the baristas at Starbucks tend to get it wrong about 90% of the time. Nothing against anyone at Starbucks - hell, if I had a line of 20 grouchy people clamoring for a cup of liquid crack every morning - I wouldn't be able to spell either. Anyways, reading my Starbucks cup has become a highlight of my days. Here are a few of my favorites:

Happy Memorial Day!

A little late...but Happy Memorial Day! A big thank you goes out to all the servicemen and women, past and present, for everything they've done. With Memorial Day also comes a three day weekend and the unofficial kickoff to summer! Hope everyone had a great few days, the weather was amazing here!

I spent my day at the beach, which was packed. Seems like the rest of New York was there too. But the weather was perfect and I even got a nice, little tan.

Also...great (unrealted) news, I passed 100 followers this weekend! Thanks for everyone who has read and supported my blog these past couple years. I realllly appreciate it and there will be a lot more from me coming your way!

Lastly, thanks to everyone who entered my Missiko Flat Iron giveaway. It will take me a little while to organize all the entries but I will try to have a winner picked and notified ASAP.

Love & Beauty Nail Polish + Ramble

A few posts back, I blogged about the new hot trend this season...mint nail polish. While I was waiting in line at Forever 21 and bored, I was browsing through the piles of cosmetics from their new "Love & Beauty" line near the registers and spotted this shade...appropriately named Mint. At $2.80, I had to give it test. Turns out I really like it! I loveeeee the color and the quality is pretty good too...might be heading back to F21 for more.

Just an update on my life...I'm back in the city and done with college! Yippeee! I'm really excited for the summer and the start of this next chapter in my life. I definitely have more free time now to blog so hopefully, you guys will be reading more of me in the near future. Let me know if you have any posts you want to see. Small Haul + Review + Ramble

Hey girls,

So I'm not sure if I publicly declared this or not, but one of my New Year's Resolutions was to stop buying makeup and use up the stuff I have. I always have the best intentions going into these things but I never really expect myself to last very long (which is why we shouldn't make resolutions to begin with). Anyhow, I lasted a total of 9 days. Congrats to me...here's what broke my ban:
I stopped by my local CVS yesterday and found a bunch of makeup on sale for 75%. I never really need any of this stuff, but find myself wanting to buy it just because it's on sale. Does anyone else have this problem? I think I might find myself on the verge of a slight shopping problem (LOL!). I got a Milani Palette in Touch of Brown for $1.75 and another for a friend. I also picked up a Rimmel Blush in Santa Rose. I really love the Milani Palette- the colors are gorgeous and great quality, maybe even some of the best eyeshadows I've tried from drugstores. I also really like the blush- it's a nice coral peach. The lasting power isn't that great but hey it was $.87

A few days ago, I ordered these pumps from Aldo. I had been eying them for awhile and finally caved. They are called "Guritz" and available in two colors:

And lastly, look what I found in New York: a giant Hello Kitty sculpture by artist Tom Sachs. So cute and ginormous! If you're in the area, it's located on 53rd and Park.

One Year Mark!

I've reached the one year mark of of my blog officially today! YAY! It's been a shaky year with blogging. I love it, I do but sometimes I find it hard to keep up between school, work, family, friends, etc. I took a hiatus for a few months- had a great summer, just finished off the fall semester, and now I'm back in NYC enjoying the holidays. In the mist of it all, I've been planning to come back to my blog. Now that I'm home and have extra time on my hands, I've decided to pick it back up. Thank you all who have been reading since the beginning and waited so patiently for updates. I'm back and hopefully, this time it will be for good (I'll make a conscious effort, I promise!!). I'm also sporting a new layout, I've been playing around with it for a bit and now I think I'm happy with how it looks. Tell me what you guys think!

Sephora by O.P.I.'s Metro Chic. And yes, with it came 25+ sheets on tissue paper. Sephora, care to be a little more green in the future? (By the way, the color is gorgeous!)

Isn't it cute? It's an EOS lip balm in Summer Fruit. Nothing will ever compare to Burt's Bees in my book but I'm also a sucker for nice packaging.

Update!

Between school and a broken camera, I find it more and more difficult to keep up with this blog. But rest assured, there will be more Little Miss Savvy posts to come! I really would love to post more pictures of things I buy that I really like and have more reviews, but the flash on my camera is broken so all I have are really dark pictures....(damn Sony! I think it is time I invest in a Canon). I'm still trying to get it fixed but I spoke with a Sony rep and he told me to send it in to the repair center for $91 (!?!?!?) Yea...so I'll definitely be weighing out my other options....

Aside from that, I just wanted to give you guys a heads up on some deals lately.

From Steve Madden. I'm not sure when this ends. I'm guessing in the next couple days or so. I ordered a really great pair of grey suede boots for only $48 (regular $199). Pics to come!

Also, most you probably know already but Cherry Culture is have free shipping on all orders (US only). I placed an order for two shadows from NYX (black and apricot moose). I'm contemplating purchasing more but I think it's time I try to exhibit a little more self control. Butttt, in the event that I can't, I would love to know what colors you guys recommend from NYX so shoot me comment.
